Abeer is from Gaza and this is her story:

“My name is Abeer. I’m 31 years old, mother of 4 girls ages 6-12.

We lived in Rafah governorate, east of Rafah city. I live alone with four girls and my house was bombed and my daughter was injured at the beginning of the war. We were displaced to Khan Yunis governorate and have been displaced several times between al Mawasi and Khan Yunis and other camps.

My daughter Mira is 8 and received shrapnel in her lung in the early days of the war when our house was bombed.

My family are refugees from the Yaffa district in 1948. We were farmers and orchardists before the Nakba. My grandparents had a large property with my family there and grew oranges and sycomore figs in Yaffa until they were displaced in 1948. They were displaced when my father was a child. They went first to the Barbara camp in the Gaza district but were displaced again to the Gaza Strip in 1949 when all the Palestinians were ethnically cleansed from their lands and their homes and properties were stolen.

We want to leave Gaza and go to Canada to friends and family there. I know I can find work there when we arrive.

We need money to live. We can’t afford the costs of food, water and clothes. My girls need winter clothes and shoes.”

Prices of food and water are very high because the occupation restricts aid coming into Gaza but allows free access to israeli and some Egyptian merchants to profit from this genocide.

Abeer and her daughters want to leave Gaza when the border opens and seek assylum in Canada wher they have friends and family.

At the moment it costs $thousands to bribe Egyptian officials to leave Gaza.

Please contribute to Abeer’s campaign. A little or a lot, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
